From my experience, you have one shot to get this right. Asking this of your wife is going to be extremely bizarre and you have to go slow...YEARS slow. Seriously.

If she cannot trust your love for her, you don't stand a chance. She needs to understand our feelings and reasoning for wanting to do this. I wrote a 4 page letter to my wife covering what let me to wanting this lifestyle. After reading it she felt loved and protected and safe and began to understand my feelings.
