Coupla Riders
Yeah, my wife and I are both bike riders. And yes there is a big difference between bikers and bike riders. I'm not a biker; couldn't ever see the logic in wearing a leather jacket with piss poured all over it and never washed, as well as the other things that go with it. Sorry if that offends anybody. Lets just say that I enjoy riding my bike, but there are many other aspects to my life besides riding my bike.
My first wife wouldn't go near my bike. When she left and I started dating again, the second thing I looked for in a woman was that she was happy to ride my bike with me. When I met a woman who demanded to drive it herself, I knew she was the one. After replacing several clutch and brake handles, and a couple turn signals, I got her a dirt bike, taught her to let the rear wheel drift in the dirt and turned her loose. That was more than 30 years ago. As KJS1961 and several others can vouch, there are pros and cons of that approach. She's never stopped me from buying anything I wanted for my bike, but now I have to buy TWO of them; one for her and one for me! I still think that's hilarious! So if you see a couple riding Triumphs around the Florida panhandle, it just might be us. |
