Spanking question.

I was having a conversation with friends about spanking and domestic disipline lifestyle. The converstaions revolved around how to handle the questions that hospitals and healthcare providers seem to always ask during intake.

Because of all the concern about legitimate domestic abuse how do you explain to Dr's and such any marks or bruises during examinations? They are going to assume that there is domestic violence. So how do you convice them that it is OK and explain your choice of lifestyle and deal with any negaitve judement that may result?

Any thoughts or has anyone had to deal with this?

Thanks

Good question, as an MD I have only come across this one time. It was in Med school and the woman I was examining simply said, " I live a consensual alternative lifestyle. There has been no domestic abuse."

I have several colleagues who have encountered the same issue and have never heard anyone be judgmental or crude. Most healthcare providers are professionals and have the education and training to deal with patients who live outside "the normal confines of mainstream sexuality".

Didnt mean the activity sent anyone to hospital or Dr. Hospital or Dr visit being a seperate incident but bruises and marks still visible.

Thanks Good to hear from an MD on the subject. BTW. Love your pics and your profile. Sorry I dont live closer to you. From your What I'm Looking For section, it sounds like we would be compatible and could have some fun. :)

My ass has been red and bruised. Never had a Doctor question me about it. If they did I'd tell them the truth.

Contract

I would draw up a simply BDSM contract stating the activities performed and that its consensual and have her sign and date it. This way you have something in writing by her! Its too easy for a spouse to become disgruntled and then tell you to do something and call the police afterwards and claim it was abuse. WHen my ex and i were married and she brought up wanting to rapeplay, i did some poking around online and read articles where its happened. Since we had a touch and go marriage anyway i decided to have her write it down. I had her do it in the spirit of kinkiness, so she was none the wiser. Paid off cause when we headed for divorce court she told me she would tell everyone how i forced her to have sex. I reminded her of the contract and that i still had it locked away in a safe place! Saved my hiney for sure!

old thread but good question. I guess a doctor will also differentiate between a black eye and a spanked bottom. Wouldn't worry about that too much.

Fortunately in Texas, consent is a defense to prosecution.

My wife and I belong to a bdsm group. As the sub, I'm the one with marks when I have them. Never had to see a doctor with marks showing. Several members of that group have had to see doctors for various things when they still have bruises from previous activity. All of them are honest about it and none of them have had a problem. Medical professionals see more of this kind of thing than you may imagine. One person is a nurse. She and her boyfriend fell off his motorcycle and were transported to the hospital where she worked. Before being examined she told them they were going to see some marks that were not related to the accident and that it was consensual. Again, there was no problem.
