Neither. They're named by a society that still thinks it's ok for a guy to fuck his way through the phone book but if a woman enjoys sex and isn't ashamed of it she's a "slut" or a "Whore".
I enjoyed sex from the first time I made out with a boy, to the first time I sucked a cock and tasted cum. I was raised by strict parents and would have had sex much more often as a teenager if I was able too. I got married and divorced young. When I was single again I began freely sampling the available male population and I was very pleased to learn the difference between an experienced partner and a boy. I've never been particularly shy, nor did I feel ashamed of my desires. I experienced my first threesome in my early 20's. That is when I learned to differentiate between recreational sex and love. Fortunately for me, I met and married a man who felt the same way about sex that I did. We are still happily married, and still enjoying recreational sex.
