I'd say it sounds more escort like rather than prostitute. Rented out to me would imply that he wants all the experience such as a date but maybe I am giving this too much credit. I can see how this could be offending as being open/swingers doesn't mean we fuck every person that comes along along and people's assumptions aren't warranted or wanted.
I guess all in all it depends on your level of friendship with this person. Maybe make a point and tell him you aren't bought, you chose your sexual partners.
