The big problem in finding some people of interest is the distance. It simply makes no sense to get in touch with someone from the US or beyond. Although it is fairly difficult to find someone real at all, I wouldn´t travel more than 1000 km to meet. And if there is a woman or couple within this distance, it should be possible to offer some overnighters so the travelling was worth it in the end; maybe for a longer weekend or even a kind of short holiday or something similar.
