After reading your post, I wonder if Paul and Charlie set this up in advance.
Between Paul dressing you as he did, and Pam going to the mall without waiting for you, the scenario seems right.

Maybe Paul wanted you to have a little fun but knew if he was direct, you would say no.
Charlie may also have confessed to Paul about seeing you and possibly the idea turned him on.

I was so scared to tell Paul i was sick for three days. We went to a friend house for dinner and after dinner we played a game.
