we have some old vhs vids of us that we want made into dvd.
Can anyone help us?

Roxio easy VHS to DVD seems to be the easiest and complete way to do what you want to do.

If you simply want a straight copy, buying a DVD recorder would be the simple way to go. Connect the audio and video out on the VHS to the inputs on the DVD recorder. The manuals for most DVD recorders will have a diagram of how to set this up. If you want to edit down your tapes, you will need some type of softare and hardware for your computer. I edit videos for a living. Depending on your comfort with learning how to do this, it does give you more control of your final product. Our videos were edited on my computer with Premiere Pro CS-2, but there are many software / hardware solutions out there. It's all about what you want to do. Dubbing from a VHS player to a DVD recorder is probably the simplest and cheapest. It is also quicker! To record , edit and burn DVD's on your PC require having a PC with a big enough hard drive, a DVD burner, a Firewire input and a device to convert the analog video and audio signals to firewire PLUS video editing software and DVD authoring software.
